5G and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) are two core technologies behind intelligent and connected vehicles (ICVs). 5G enables intelligent vehicles to connect to the public Internet with Gbps-level bandwidth and low latency, which is the basis for such applications as in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), HD video backhaul, and high-precision mapping. Meanwhile, V2X incorporates V2N (Vehicle-to-Network), V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle), V2I (Vehicle-to-Infrastructure), and V2P (Vehicle-to-Pedestrian), providing fast and reliable communications between intelligent vehicles and the intelligent transportation systems. V2X sends messages on an extremely reliable basis, achieving an average latency of 15 ms even amidst congested traffic. It allows intelligent vehicles to obtain information related to road conditions and traffic participants in real time, and helps prevent traffic accidents by predicting scenarios, making traveling safer, more convenient, and more efficient. However, V2X still faces some challenges, which are in urgent need of solving.
Some vehicle-mounted terminals are outdated and are not connected to the network, hindering the sharing of information.
Information can't be sent out immediately in environments where the signal is weak, such as tunnels.
We leverage industry-leading 5G products and technologies, as well as over seven years of experience in C-V2X research and engineering, by working closely with partners to build a collaborative 5G vehicle-infrastructure system. Our solution provides intelligent vehicles with access capabilities like 5G, V2X, WiFi, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), which can upgrade vehicle-mounted smart devices; it also bolsters such devices with advanced functions including high-precision mapping, human-machine interaction (HMI), robust algorithms, accurate positioning, and real-time vehicle-infrastructure interactions. These in turn make transportation systems more efficient, while also reducing accidents and alleviating road congestion. The result is a substantially improved driving experience and easier road management.
